Open Faculty Positions

The Department of Religious Studies at Northwestern University invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in Religious Studies, with a specialization in late antique Christianity. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2020.

We seek a candidate who is conversant with and has a demonstrated research agenda in the history, literatures and cultures of Christianity from the first to eighth centuries CE. Successful candidate will also be able to bring the literature and study of ancient Christianity into productive engagement with theoretical and critical issues in the study of religion today.

Candidates must currently hold a PhD in Religious Studies or a related discipline. Please include a cover letter, writing sample, two recommendations, teaching evaluations and syllabi for both large lecture and small seminar courses (if available). The successful candidate will teach six quarter-length courses per academic year.
